Typical Procedure

  • Visual inspect container for damage
  • Cylinder removed for later tests
  • Detailed inspection of raft
  • Dry air pressure and leak tests
  • Replace outdated items
  • CO2 Cylinder Inspection
  • USCG/SOLAS rafts after 10 years require extra pressure, seam & cylinder tests
  • Secure emergency packs
  • Connect light system
  • Connect cylinder and inflation system
  • Attachments inspected and secured
  • Life raft is repacked per manufacturer specifications
  • Inflation firing cable attached to painter line
  • Container gaskets and seals replaced
  • Install bursting straps
  • Valises are sealed or laced
  • All labels inspected/replaced as required
  • All procedures documented and kept on file
  • Issue certificates and notify owner
